Walnut Street Baptist Church Modifications and Sanctuary Addition

Walnut Street Baptist Church Modifications and Sanctuary Addition

Continuing to expand the church facility in areas of need, Walnut Street Church entered construction for a new sanctuary worship center in early 1999.  Designed to seat approx. 900, the addition also included large restrooms, storage rooms, and side entry doors from the existing parking.  The worship center includes sloped seating floor and large pulpit area with choir seating for 70. Construction included brick veneer on steel studs for exterior wall finish and composition shingle roof over pre-engineered steel building frame.  Interior partitions are steel studs with painted gypsum board finish.  Special acoustical treatment at the ceilings of suspended lay-in tiles and gypsum board furrdowns gave enhanced sound acoustics for the vast spaces.
